Expanding into Northeast Missouri

Everywhere across Missouri, more foster homes are needed. Since the inception of Coyote Hill Foster Care Ministries’s Foster Care Services program in 2020, Coyote Hill Foster Care Ministries has licensed 89 new foster families and expanded into the Moberly and Jefferson City areas. Now, with the hiring of Brittany McCaskey as our Hannibal Area Coordinator, we are excited to announce that our foster care licensing and support services are moving into the NE Missouri region, also!

Brittany and her husband Josh formerly worked for Coyote Hill Foster Care Ministries as foster parents in the Hubbell Home and the Petersheim Home. Shortly after they adopted three children from foster care in December of 2020, they made the decision to move back closer to friends and family near Hannibal.

“Before we left Coyote Hill Foster Care Ministries, Josh and I both asked if we could launch a Foster Care Services in the Hannibal area,” Brittany said. “The area really needs it. My parents were foster parents for 13 years in NE Missouri. My youngest brother and sister were adopted from foster care. I knew there weren’t a lot of other foster homes around when I lived there, and I just really had the desire to bring hope and change to Hannibal. In a previous job as a community support specialist, I found out that Hannibal and Marion County have a higher overdose rate than the national average. That definitely increases the number of children going into foster care.”

“By bringing Coyote Hill Foster Care Ministries’s Foster Care Services into the NE Missouri area, I hope to love, serve and help promote positive change in the community where I grew up,” Brittany continued. “I want to facilitate more well-equipped foster homes, to serve and love more kids.”

Ways to Help

  • Help us spread the word and consider attending our December 11 Informational Meeting in Hannibal. It’s for anyone interested in learning more about foster care and the potential of becoming a licensed foster parent through Coyote Hill Foster Care Ministries.
  • Once we have licensed our first foster parents next spring and they’re caring for children, we’ll need volunteers willing to prepare frozen meals, donate gift cards for groceries or supplies, or anything else that new parents may need for their children.

If you can help with any of these areas, please contact Brittany:

Find Out More About Becoming a Foster Parent

“Every day, I get more and more energized about this! To be able to see that this is actually happening is so exciting. It gives me so much joy to see and know that God is moving through this. There’s no way it could work without Him. I see endless possibilities of what can happen through all the different lives that can be changed and impacted, including the children in foster care, foster parents, adoptive parents, the biological children of the families, churches, teachers, and community workers. It will take all of them, working together, to be a positive change. I just can’t wait to see that happening!”
