They Found Forever Homes

Within two weeks of each other and just in time for the holidays, five of Coyote Hill Foster Care Ministries’s former residents were adopted into their forever homes!

The first were two brothers, adopted by Jordan and Violeta Douce.

We were Home Parents in The Hubbell Home when we met Chris and Eric in 2017,” explains Violeta. “Eric was only two years old and Chris was six. We’ve lived through so much life with these boys since then! From learning how to use the potty to learning how to read and ride bikes, we have been privileged to watch them grow. When Chris first moved in with us he was in such a hard place. Seeing his transformation and God’s work in his life has been nothing short of miraculous. Eric will forever be the first one in our lives to call us mommy and daddy! When he was two years old he would look up at me and ask me, ‘Are you my mommy?’  I would always reply, ‘I am your mommy for now.’

On November 17, I got to look at him and say, ‘I am your mommy forever!’”

The next happened on December 1, when our Respite Home Parents Josh & Brittany McCaskey finalized their adoption of three precious siblings. 13KRCG recently did a story on their adoption.

Josh and Brittany also shared the following with our Boots ‘n Bids at Home party hosts in October.

Josh: Coyote Hill Foster Care Ministries has been a really special place for us. We’ve been here for about two and a half years, coming here from Illinois. We had been married for about a year and didn’t have kids when we decided to become Home Parents. Coyote Hill Foster Care Ministries is at the core of who we are today. It changed our family.

We get to be the hands and feet of Jesus every day to children who have suffered physical and mental trauma. We get to nurture and support kids of all ages during their healing journey. Because of Coyote Hill Foster Care Ministries’s supporters, we get to do really cool things with the kids as well. Things that they never got to do outside of Coyote Hill Foster Care Ministries in Harrisburg, MO. We get to take them on family vacations and really cool day trips.  They go to summer camps and get to learn new skills. Personally, I love teaching them outdoor skills such as archery, fishing and hunting.

We get the chance to change the trajectory of a child’s life, potentially stopping a cycle of hurt and abuse that might go back for generations. It’s such an important ministry.

Brittany:  Coyote Hill Foster Care Ministries has changed our family personally. Like Josh said, we’d only been married a little over year when we came. [After Jordan and Violeta moved on] we stepped into the Hubbell Home as the new Home Parents. There was this really sweet sibling group that had only arrived a month before we did. Their story was heart-breaking and their pain was real. Over the next two years, we walked alongside them and loved them through the ups and downs of their case. Last summer, their case changed to adoption.

We had watched them grow. We’d walked through pain and triumph with them. They were our kids. We really love them. Now, we’ve adopted them! They don’t have to worry anymore about where they’re going to go, or who they’re going to live with, or who’s going to be their mom and dad. God had orchestrated it all when He brought us together at Coyote Hill Foster Care Ministries.
