Watching Dreams Become Reality

Coyote Hill Foster Care Ministries believes that when children are given a chance to form secure connections with safe adults, they can thrive.

Larry McDaniel, Coyote Hill’s founder, has previously shared, “Many of our children come from unspeakable situations of abuse and neglect. We tell the children in our care that we cannot give them a new beginning, but we can help them create a better ending.”

Over the 34 years of ministry, we have been so blessed to see how children have worked hard to create resilient, redemptive new chapters in their stories.

Recently, we heard about an exciting new chapter for Breana, a former Coyote Hill resident!

She shared an update about her journey to become a licensed vocational nurse (LVN).

“I got into the spring term for college and I am working towards my LVN-RN,” Breana said. “I am not doing this just for the title of being a nurse or for the money. I’m doing this because I grew up in foster care. I want to do this  for the kids who are currently in foster care or who have aged out of it.”

Breana reflected on how she is motivated to show children with similar experiences  that they have the power to overcome adversity.

“No matter what life throws at you, life is not over,” Breana shared. “Your past and traumas do not define the person you are or the person you can become.”

Breana lived at Coyote Hill over ten years ago, but she has thought about returning to visit as an adult. She shared that she’s eager to be an example for the children that live at The Hill now.

“I don’t want to just walk in there as a former foster kid,” Breana shared. “I want these kids to have something to look forward to. I want them to know that dreams and passions can become a reality.”

We are so excited for Breana as she continues her journey to become a nurse, and we are honored that she has allowed us to share an update about her life! We are so proud of her and her achievements!

“No matter how hard life seems or how much you go through, that does not define you,” Breana said. “God has greater plans than we could ever imagine.”

Please join us in praying for Breana in this exciting next chapter.
