This is Foster Care: Navigating The Call To Foster Care Ministry
Thank you to The Crossing Church for making this incredible video!

Meet one of our foster families, the Ungs Party of 7! Chase and Catie Ungs received their license to foster in 2020.

“I don’t know if I could have imagined my life where it is right now, just four or five years ago, before we went down the fostering path,” Chase said.

“We hesitantly took the jump into foster care and didn’t really know what we were doing,” Catie said. “We went through the classes and had decided to get our toes wet and provide respite care.”

Since then, they’ve welcomed a sibling set of three, bringing the total number of children in their home to five!

“Our goals at the beginning were to just experience the fostering system to see if our family can grow and then to just provide a home for these kids,” Chase said.  “I mean, growing up, they just want to be kids. They have lots of things going on in their little minds, and we just wanted to offer stabilization and a steady home for them.”

Chase and Catie also shared that throughout the highs and lows of foster care, they have experienced God’s presence along their foster care journey.

“When you open up your home to foster care, you’re asking trauma and brokenness to sit next to you at the dinner table,” Catie shared. “We had to come to terms with that. We know it’s going to be okay; it’s going to be uncomfortable, and there are going to be times where you just don’t understand, but God’s still there, and he’s watching over us.”
