See The Need: Foster Care and Mental Health

According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, mental and behavioral health is the largest unmet need for children in foster care.

In order for children to thrive, they need access to mental health resources and supports, including therapy, routines, stability, and nurturing. This is not possible without stable, nurturing foster homes and families who advocate on behalf of the children they care for. This is why Coyote Hill Foster Care Ministries strives to support foster families—we want foster families to succeed, so children can experience stability.

Coyote Hill Foster Care Ministries supports foster families by equipping them through training and advocacy. We offer frequent Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI®) trainings to provide trauma-informed resources and proven techniques to build trust, connection, and attachment with children. Additionally, we have hosted multiple Hope for the Journey conferences, which offer extensive information about TBRI® Principles.

We also walk alongside our families through our Family Advocacy program. Our advocates journey alongside foster families through the highs and lows of their fostering journeys, offering resources, support and encouragement. This has contributed to Coyote Hill Foster Care Ministries having a 90% foster parent retention rate, compared to the national average of 50%.
