From the very beginning, this journey was about one thing: bringing her children home.
“I’m so glad it’s over. So glad my babies are back home with me. It feels safe and complete now. My children are home.”
Katasia’s journey required patience, growth, and resilience. Along the way, she learned to slow down, choose her battles, and stay focused on what mattered most.

“I used to be so quick to fuss or get mad about stuff I didn’t want to do but this whole case made me shut my mouth and get serious, because I was going up against a whole system for my babies. I had to learn that not everything needs a reaction.”
Throughout this journey, her children stayed with family, bringing both gratitude and complicated emotions. Still, she remained committed to reunification and leaned into the support around her, especially her family advocate Chris.
“I felt comfortable with him. I could say how I felt, and he understood. [For Chris], it was more than just a job.”
Chris watched her grow throughout the process, reflecting that
“from the beginning, she showed how deeply she loved her kids. She kept showing up, even on the hardest days. She was willing to learn and do whatever it took to bring her children home.”
Now reunited, Katasia and her children are stepping into a new chapter, planning a fresh start outside of Missouri with dreams of opening a business, homeschooling, and traveling together.
“We overcame so much here,” she shared. “It’s time to move on.”
Today, she offers encouragement to other parents walking a similar road:
“Ask questions. Pay attention. Be the voice for your children. It’s not easy, but all that hard work pays off when your babies are back home in your arms forever.”
We are filled with gratitude towards those who gave to our Family Center. Thanks to you, we now have a space to celebrate this family and all of those who will follow them in reunification!
