This October, Coyote Hill Moberly Ambassadors hosted a Family Fall Festival for foster parents and supporters in the Moberly community.
This event was a family-friendly event, where children and families were able to do fun fall-themed activities together. We loved seeing children crawl through the hay maze and families smile on hayrides together. There was also a pumpkin decorating station, a corn wagon, yard games, a barrel ride, and food trucks!
This event was also a great connection for the community to learn more about foster care and get plugged in. Several of our Moberly respite parents volunteered, but we also had several first-time volunteers. This was a great way for them to interact with foster families, and hopefully feel inspired to continue learning more and volunteering!
Additionally, one of our respite parents and a Children’s Division supervisor from Howard County brought their horses! They helped children ride the horses throughout the day, but they also allowed the children to paint the horses as well, which was awesome. We are grateful that they took the time to bring their horses to this event, because it was a huge hit!
This event was almost entirely planned and executed by Emily Koenig and our Moberly Ambassadors, Rachel Seidel, Lisa Borden, and Taysha Zike.
“It was really cool to see [the ambassadors’] passion for this event,” Karcie Clark, Moberly Area Coordinator, said. “It was great to see them love on kids and families, and take time to plan this event.”
The event also raised over $2,500 to support Moberly foster families!
“This is definitely something we will continue to do,” Karcie shared.
We are already looking forward to next fall!
