Looking Forward to Open House

Nearly 22 years ago, in 1999, Coyote Hill Foster Care Ministries held its first Open House event. It looked different than it does today. At the first event, we had a contest where adults drove a golf cart blind-folded with only a child to guide them. We made everyone ride a tricycle. We asked children to bring a frog along for a frog jumping contest!

Nowadays, we do things a little differently, but we don’t have any less fun.

This Saturday, September 11th is our Open House celebrating our 30th anniversary and our 7th home in Harrisburg – the Ubl home. The event will have a bounce house, face painting, pony rides, hayrides, free BBQ, and you can even enter to win a hot air balloon ride taking off at the end of the event by donating to our 30th birthday fundraiser here!

Five years ago, on our 25th birthday, Chief Development Officer Kari Hopkins concluded Open House the best, “This is one of my favorite days of the year. It’s a day where a lot of old friends come back and it’s a great time to meet new friends. It’s hard for people to understand what we do here, so I love today, when everyone can come and see the property.”

This Saturday, September 11th help us celebrate a 30-year legacy of keeping children safe, and look forward to 30 more years! Make time to join us for a free lunch, and an afternoon of family-friendly activities.
