Late Fall Fishing at The Hill

Children recently spent a warm fall day fishing at The Hill, our Harrisburg Foster Care Community! The Harrisburg School District does not have school on Mondays. This allows Community Coordinator Daisy Marquez to come up with engaging ideas for children to spend time together.

Often, these activities give these children an opportunity to spend time outside. They also do interactive crafts or games together, or learn something new. Recently, they soaked up lingering warm weather on a sunny fall day as they spent the morning fishing together.

Property Managers Sam Coy and Tom Head assisted Daisy with this activity at one of the ponds at The Hill.

“Sam and Tom teach the kids every step, from hooking the worm, catching the fish, to eating them!” Daisy shared. “They love getting outside into nature and fishing. This is such a great way for the children to enjoy God’s creation.”

At Coyote Hill, we value the opportunity to help children develop new skills, grow in confidence, and build relationships. During activities like this, we help them feel important, safe, and loved.

Sam, Tom, and Daisy prioritize activities like fishing at The Hill. We love that children are able to make new memories and build relationships with each other and safe adults. We know this will have a lifelong impact!
