When Coyote Hill Foster Care Ministries expanded into the community, our goal was to change the landscape of foster care. One way we are doing this is by walking foster parents through the licensing process ourselves.
It’s our desire to provide a seamless, personal experience for families who want to help children from hard places. By making this easy, we can license families more efficiently. By making it personal, we can vet our potential foster parents and ensure that children will receive care from the best individuals possible.
One of those foster parents is Jennifer Klosterman, who was licensed in 2020. We asked Jennifer about her licensing experience.
“I had always been interested in fostering, but when I heard a radio ad for Coyote Hill Foster Care Ministries Foster Care Services, I decided to take the step and contact someone,” she said.
After exchanging a couple of emails and an initial visit to get to know each other, Jennifer’s licensing specialist began her home study (an in-depth document about a person that assesses their fitness to be a foster parent).
“I am somebody who asks tons of questions and I get nervous that I’m going to annoy somebody, but throughout the licensing process, I wanted to be sure about different aspects.” said Jennifer. “My Licensing Specialist, Paige, was always there to provide an answer or find one.”

Within a week of finishing her required class, Jennifer was licensed. “Choosing foster care is a big deal and Coyote Hill Foster Care Ministries made it easy.”
Jennifer has since provided care for three children.
“If anyone is ever interested in fostering, I tell them they need to go through Coyote Hill Foster Care Ministries. I wouldn’t want to go through anyone else – especially with their advocacy program. To me, there is no other route anybody should go to become licensed to be a foster parent.”
