It has been a whirlwind of a year for our new Foster Care Services branch of Coyote Hill Foster Care Ministries located in Columbia, Missouri. This new branch exists to train and license foster families in our community to provide more safe homes for children from hard places.
As we approach the latter half of the year, it is time to prepare to train and license more families. We will be hosting another STARS class this fall, as well as several other trainings.
We will be hosting events in Jefferson City, Moberly, and Fayette for anyone interested becoming a foster parent, adoptive parent, or respite provider. (Info Below!) This is a chance for you to come and meet with the Foster Care Services team, and ask any questions you may have about becoming a foster parent.

For nearly 30 years, we have been caring for children at our Children’s Home in Harrisburg, MO. That’s still happening! But now, we are also licensing and supporting individual foster families in Columbia and the surrounding communities. Our goal is to change the landscape of foster care in mid-Missouri.
“As we are licensing new foster families, we are really multiplying the number of beds that are open for children who have experienced trauma and who need a safe place to be a child™,” Licensing and Training Director Amy Kingery said.
In 2020, we have graduated three STARS classes – the required training course for those wanting to become licensed foster parents in Missouri. We are so proud of and happy for the families we are working with who are now licensed, and many have welcomed children into their homes. Our Family Advocates work with these families regularly to assist them with anything they may need.
