We are currently serving 97 children in foster care in the mid-Missouri area. As summer approaches, these growing children are in need of new shoes, clothing, etc. We were recently able to purchase many of these items thanks to a partnership with the Ticket to Dream Foundation.
Coyote Hill Foster Care Ministries is a nonprofit foster care partner with the Ticket to Dream Foundation, a 501(c)(3) foundation dedicated to helping kids in care. Through fundraisers with businesses like Mattress Firm, Ticket to Dream is able to provide funds for us to by needed items for our kiddos.
Recently, we were awarded funds to purchase shoes, clothes, undergarments, hygiene items, and diapers/wipes for the children we serve. Development Coordinator Megan Gillispie helped to gather requests from our families and purchase the items, then our Family Advocates delivered the items.
“It was such a joy to help purchase items for all of the kids,” Megan said. “It was so fun learning about all the kids we serve – their favorite colors and characters – then picking out items based on that. Seeing their reactions to their new items in photos was also a delight.”
Through the grant, we were able to purchase:
-91 clothing items
-70 pairs of underwear
-37 pairs of shoes
-22 pairs of socks
-1,179 diapers/pull-ups
-12 packs of wipes
-2 containers of formula
-10 hygiene items
