Rachel Tiemeyer and Polly Conner run Thriving Home – a blog dedicated to helping families put good food on their tables.
Rachel and Polly have been friends and supporters of the ministry for more than a decade. Both have worked on staff at The Crossing, working with youth, and have served with their families out at The Hill.
Over the years, Rachel and Polly have developed a passion for supporting local ministries through their business and they are both excited about what’s happening at Coyote Hill Foster Care Ministries.
“As a mom of three kids, as someone who has worked with children most of my adult life, there is something that makes me so, so sad just the thought of a child not feeling loved, not feeling like they get to be a kid,” Rachel said. “I love that Coyote Hill Foster Care Ministries can step in when they’re needed in a child’s life to provide this loving, supportive place.”
When we began to plan for our 30th anniversary, we knew we wanted to do a fundraising campaign in honor of such a milestone. We sat down with Rachel and Polly to ask them to partner with us on this endeavor.
“For every monthly donor that came on, up to 30 donors, we would give $100,” Rachel said. “That was just a no-brainer. We were so excited.”
“[Any way that] we can use our influence and our local following to help a ministry like this, we’re in,” Polly added. “I also really like giving to a ministry that’s a holistic approach. You’re giving them the basic foundation that kids need to grow into healthy adults whether that be a stable home, a stable family, or a spiritual upbringing. It brings the holistic approach to a healthy child, helping them feel loved and secure.”
The 30/30 Challenge was a way to ask supporters to partner with us for our 30th year. We asked for people to pledge to give $30 per month. Our goal was to gain 30 new monthly donors in this campaign.
We have supporters who have been giving every single month since the ministry’s founding. Hundreds of people are part of our “Family Partners” who give monthly.
We are excited to share that with the help of Thriving Home, 32 new supporters joined the Family Partners in honor of our 30th anniversary.
It is amazing to see all God has done and is presently doing through Coyote Hill Foster Care Ministries. When we take a step back and see His handiwork, it’s impossible not to be in awe.
