2021 is not only Coyote Hill Foster Care Ministries’s 30th anniversary, it is also the 10th anniversary of the opening of our fourth home, The Wright Home.
The late Bentley Wright became a strong supporter of Coyote Hill Foster Care Ministries nearly 20 years ago, after hearing about our work and ministry at his church. Bentley, a quadriplegic, loved the idea of one of Coyote Hill Foster Care Ministries’s homes being handicap accessible, so we would never be limited in serving a child because of a physical handicap.
The Wright Home opened in the spring of 2011. We celebrated its opening at our Open House event in September of 2011. Although the home was constructed in honor of and with the support of Bentley, he and his brother Hartley asked that the home be dedicated in memory of their parents, Forrest “Bud” and Marjorie Wright.
“Bud and Marjorie’s lifetime of service to others is reflected in their son’s giving to the next generation and many more to come through the Wright Home.”
The Columbia Tribune printed an article in 2010, after The Wright Home’s framing day, with quotes from Bentley, Founder Larry McDaniel, Development Director Kari (Salmon) Hopkins and former resident Calvin Temple. Click the button to read the story.
2010 Wright Home Framing Day“We’re happy to provide children a home where love resides and memories are created, in a place they can feel known and supported.”
