On the first Tuesday of every month, a small group of foster moms meet in Moberly to receive support from a community of like-minded women. Moms are given time to share updates, struggles, praises, ask for advice, or often just lend a listening ear to a mom going through similar experiences.
“Most sessions I just listen, but I’ve had gut wrenching days when we’ve talked through serious decisions,” said foster mom Mandy Auxier.
“It’s definitely a space for vulnerability, sharing of wisdom, and support. My favorite thing about our group is the range in years served. One foster mom has been fostering for nearly 30 years, while another is just newly licensed!” explained Karcie Clark, our Moberly Area Coordinator.

One of the things the moms appreciate most about the group is the true community found there. “It’s been extra helpful to me because I was new to this world of foster care. There are so many hoops and frustrations when it comes to the foster system, and seeing a group of women trying to help each other through it means a lot,” said Mandy.
Another mom shared, “The foster moms support group is a place where we share laughs, stories, and sometimes tears—a group I didn’t know I would need but completely do! I’m so thankful for the work of those at Coyote Hill Foster Care Ministries who love and support foster families!”
“Starting this group has been the best decision I’ve made in this position thus far,” said Karcie. “We always say ‘It takes a village’ but not everyone has a village in their corner. This group has created a community of wonderful, passionate women. Seeing them come together to laugh, cry, and pray for one another has been such a blessing to me.”
