Coyote Hill Moberly Celebrates 5 Years with Ribbon Cutting and Office Unveiling
Confetti flew on August 4th as Coyote Hill families, supporters, and staff gathered at our Moberly office for a ribbon cutting, celebrating five years of walking alongside children and families in Randolph County. The celebration also included an open house for the newly reimagined office space, redesigned to serve children and families even better.
The ribbon cutting was hosted in partnership with the Moberly Area Chamber of Commerce. Attendees were invited to tour the office and experience an interactive “Our Next Adventure Awaits” journey, walking through the past five years of Coyote Hill Moberly’s milestone markers to explore stories, photos, and the impact made together.
The tour of the refreshed office space gave community members the opportunity to see the new interior design elements meant to support children and families, from a toy and play area for children to plenty of meeting space for families. Coyote Hill Development Manager April Rothweiler described the new layout and how it allows Coyote Hill to serve well.
“The newly designed office space meets several needs. It’s a space for foster parents to meet with their advocate, a meeting space for families, a safe space within proximity of parents for children to play, and a conference room to train more foster parents and respite providers, as well as volunteers,” April shared. “It’s also a place for partners to visit and have coffee and conversations. A renovated space is welcoming and encourages more community involvement.”
Coyote Hill Chief Operating Officer Kari Hopkins also highlighted the function of the new space to welcome and support children and families’ needs.
“We want each location to be a spot where families feel like they can bring their kids, be honest about their struggles and challenges, and also receive the encouragement and support that they need that is unique to being a foster parent,” Kari said.
The community came together to celebrate five years of local impact and to look ahead to what’s next for Coyote Hill Moberly.
“It was both encouraging and exciting to see the local community gather around us during the ribbon cutting and open house for the Moberly office,” April reflected. “It reminded me how great the community we work and live in is.”
The event was opened with words from Kari as she reminded those in attendance that gathering in support of Coyote Hill is what has always moved the ministry forward, and that’s how it will continue to serve children and families best.
“For 35 years, Coyote Hill has existed because of the support of our local churches and individuals coming alongside our ministry,” Kari said. “So anytime we start a new location, we’re entering a new community and really hopeful that they will respond to what we’re doing.”
As the ribbon was cut and confetti flew, a new era of Coyote Hill Moberly was introduced, and the previous five years of the ministry were celebrated. As Coyote Hill Moberly moves forward, its goals are moving forward too.
“Our motto for the event, ‘Our Next Adventure Awaits,’ means that we are planning for the future. We hope to expand into more communities and counties, add to our team, and add value to the communities we serve by partnering with local organizations serving families at risk and in need.”
With excitement for the future, Coyote Hill is also leaning on the leading of God to guide above all else, in Moberly and beyond.
“I think we are very strategic but also open-handed with what the Lord’s going to do in Moberly,” Kari shared.
Along with celebrating five years of service in Moberly, Coyote Hill is also celebrating 35 years of ministry across Mid-Missouri. If you’re interested in ways you can support the future of Coyote Hill, please visit https://coyotehill.org/35-years/.
