Celebrating the Coyote Hill Class of 2025
This spring, we are overjoyed to celebrate children in Coyote Hill homes as they graduate!
From kindergarten graduations to high school graduations, we are so proud of the hard work, dedication, and perseverance that Coyote Hill kiddos put into their school work.

Unfortunately, children who experience foster care face many hurdles along their educational journey. Students who are in foster care experience more transitions than their peers.
According to the National Foster Youth Institute, children in foster care move three times a year on average. Meanwhile, current research estimates that children lose four to six months of academic progress each time they move homes.
These transitions are challenging for many reasons–they move away from their favorite teachers, friends, and familiar routines. They also lead to more absences; children in foster care miss twice as many school days as other students.
Despite these challenges, we see so many of the children in Coyote Hill homes work hard to succeed in school.
This year, there are six graduating seniors in Coyote Hill homes!
As much as it has been an honor to watch these students overcome adversity, it has also been such a joy to see them step out of their comfort zone, try new things, and flourish.
One of our graduating seniors recently completed an internship in a childcare facility. Her supervisor shared that she was a “saving grace” in their classroom!
Another graduating senior has shown amazing courage and perseverance. One example of this courage is when she participated in her school’s winter party talent show. She sang a song in English and in Spanish, which is her first language.
It is so powerful to see how these young adults are experiencing safety and are able to do hard things with the support of their community.
Donors like you make stories like these possible. Your support equips our Family Advocates to walk alongside our foster families. This helps them continue to foster through difficult seasons, which creates more stability for children in foster care. When children are able to stay in the same home for long periods of time, they are more likely to succeed at school.
Your support also makes a difference through our Student Success Fund. This fund covers costs like tutoring and providing necessary equipment for classes and extra curricular activities.
We are so proud of our graduating seniors and grateful for the community of support that has made a difference in their journey!
