Recently, we had the privilege of witnessing a blessing be multiplied tenfold by the generosity of our community.
One of our relative foster care providers, Latuana Hatcher, recently brought four children into her home, in addition to her three biological children. These children were in a neglectful, abusive environment, but under Latuana’s care they have grown into happy, thriving children.
However, transporting seven children around town is no easy task.

When Cody Cox, Coyote Hill Foster Care Ministries’s Family Restoration Director, became aware of this need, he began to think of possible solutions.
“I had it in the back of my mind for a while,” Cody said. “Then, I thought about a van that we had at the Harrisburg property.”
There is a 15-passenger van that Coyote Hill Foster Care Ministries has used in the past to transport donations. However, it was not being used frequently.

“We weren’t really utilizing it, so we took it to Mutrux Automotive to see what work it needed,” Cody said.
Cindy and Ross Mutrux have been longtime supporters of Coyote Hill Foster Care Ministries, and Cindy has served faithfully on our board of directors. After learning about this family’s story, Cindy posted a heartfelt message on Facebook, calling on the community to donate supplies to this family. The response was overwhelming.
After Mutrux Automotive had finished repairs, ServiceMaster cleaned and detailed the van.

On Friday morning, we filled the van with diapers, laundry detergent, groceries, a television, school supplies, toys, a water table, and more.
As we drove up to the Hatcher home, everyone was ecstatic to see the van, and even more excited to unload what was inside.
Latuana’s oldest child said, “We’re all going to have our own seat in the van!”
As the children formed an assembly line and carried the supplies into the house, Latuana said, “Thank you all so much. I have never had anyone go above and beyond for me before. This means a lot.”

When Coyote Hill Foster Care Ministries was founded, Cathy McDaniel instilled a value in our ministry that every child should have a seat at the table, which is why each of the homes on our Harrisburg property has a large kitchen table with room for everyone. We are so happy to have been a part of providing a seat for every Hatcher child in their new van.

Thank you so much to everyone who donated, and especially to Cindy and Ross Mutrux and Mutrux Automotive, Adam and Anicita Kinser and ServiceMaster, New Beginnings Construction, and Woodsman Distilling.
