Pancake Breakfast

Thank You to Our Friends and Supporters!

With only two days remaining before our 23rd annual Pancake Breakfast, we made the difficult decision to cancel it. However, raising the funds for our summer recreation program was still a need. That day we created a plan to move the fundraiser online. We sent an email, posted on social media, and prayed our community would still be moved to give. You all showed up in a BIG way!

In three days, our community donated over $15,000 for our summer recreation fund. Historically, we had raised between $6-7,000 at the breakfast. When we needed our community the most, they stepped up. Missouri Employers Mutual matched $2,500 in donations made on Facebook. Other donors gave $10. Each person’s efforts to give added up to make a big difference.

Although gathering at our annual event was not possible this year, families all over central Missouri showed their support by gathering in their homes to eat pancakes and give online to the summer recreation fund. Many posted #iwantpancakes photos, so we could share the morning together with them virtually. In uncertain times, it is reassuring to know that our community will continue to make sure our children have A Safe Place to Be a Child.

Stay tuned for next year’s plans!

A note from our Chief Executive Officer

The people of mid-Missouri are wonderful and caring. With or without an event to attend, they realize we have many children from hard places to care for. Seeing the community come together and support our children is my favorite part of every event.
