House Parents

The House Parent role is a full-time, on-site paid position. You typically begin by moving on-site as Relief House Parents. Relief House Parents’ primary role is to provide care for children while House Parents take time away, providing on-the-job training for transitioning into full-time House Parents. House Parent couples must have an ability to relate in a caring and feeling way, to establish and maintain helping relationships with youth, to learn and utilize new parenting techniques that support trauma informed care methods.

House Parents’ duties include managing the activities inside the home and working with other professionals outside the home. Coyote Hill is a hybrid between traditional foster care and residential care in that the children live in family homes with a married House Parent couple. The vision of Coyote Hill is to allow the children in our care to experience a fully functional family, with all the professional counseling services of a residential agency.

Position benefits include:

  • Annual salary for the couple
  • Paid housing, utilities, cell phone reimbursement
  • 403(b) retirement plan with 5% match
  • Dental/vision/supplemental coverage offered at a group rate
  • Generous vacation time: two weeks of vacation and three personal days annually; weekly date nights; and monthly 4-day blocks of time off
  • $1,000 longevity bonus after three years and a $3,000 bonus after five years

Coyote Hill views the House Parent position as a domestic mission and expects house parents to have a missionary mindset. There are currently 5 homes each approximately 5,500 sq. ft. on 200 acres in Harrisburg, Missouri. Each home can house up to 8 foster children (ages 3 to 18) and are co-ed with four boy and four girl beds. Over 80% of our population are sibling groups.

House Parent Accommodations include: a large 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom House Parent apartment with living room, kitchen, and ample storage space. Additionally, your home is provided with a monthly budget to purchase food/items, a recreational budget for activities, and use of two ministry vehicles. We will consider parents with 3 children or less and/or who have a pet.

Each House Parent must be a supportive team member in the care of the children, have a driver’s license with good driving record, be a minimum of 21 years old, and pass background checks. College degree is preferred.

House Parent Aide

Parent Aides provide assistance as needed to the House Parents. As a Parent Aide you will typically be assigned to one home, but will be moved to serve other homes as needed. This role is typically filled by single adults, age 21 and over, who are looking to make an impact on the next generation. Parent Aides serve alongside our staff as we work to give abused and neglected children the childhood they deserve.

Case Manager

To serve as a liaison between Coyote Hill and the Children’s Division employees, biological family members and any other affiliations surrounding a resident’s case. The Case Manager will maintain and manage all case records regarding children served by Coyote Hill. A full-time Case Manager is eligible to receive benefits and cell phone expense assistance.
