Boots ‘n Bids 2012 Recap

Our Boots ‘n Bids for Kids just gets better every year. Thus, our 6th Annual event held on October 4th appeared to be one of our most successful ones to date.

Complete with 20 raffle items and nearly as many silent auction items, as well as 9 amazing live auction items – there was plenty of friendly competition throughout the evening to see who could go home with the most desirable items.

Emcee for the evening, Cole Calloway-Hodson, not only kept everyone entertained but also challenged all who attended. Auctioneer Larry Atterbury, Jr. kept the crowd actively raising their bid paddles, generously bidding on our donated items. “Ten Gallon Hat” kept everyone humming and tapping their toes to their wonderful live music proceeding and during dinner time. Enthusiastic appreciation was also shown to this year’s Donna Crocket Award winners, Columbia Dentistry for Children, as they were recognized for having donated over $40,000 worth of dental work to our children since 2009.

Special guest speaker, Coach Dave Steckel, kept everyone laughing and wondering what he might say next. Quoting scripture passages about generosity and giving analogies comparing his MU team of “kids” with the kids of Coyote Hill Foster Care Ministries – everyone appreciated his honest and genuine outlook on giving it all you’ve got and living generously each and every day.

There are no words to fully express our appreciation to all of our fantastic volunteers, auction item donors, sponsors, guests and supporters – what a memorable evening you helped create for all of us!  Thank you so very much for helping us remain “A Safe Place to Be a Child” by making events like this so successful.
