700 volunteers from 11 churches, serving at 17 locations around the Columbia area. That’s what #ForColumbia 2015 was all about!
Saturday, April 25th found over 150 volunteers coming to Coyote Hill to bless us by tackling all sorts of projects. Our volunteers came from The Crossing, Grace Bible Church, Compass Church and Christian Fellowship Church.
Young and old alike converged upon our property, providing service with a smile. Outside projects included landscaping, wood splitting, trash pick up, power washing siding, building garden boxes, an outdoor arena and a playground barrier and washing vehicles. Inside, you could find volunteers deep cleaning, creating dozens of freezer meals, organizing oodles of paperwork, files and photos and conducting a field day for the kids in our arena. Those indoor games for kids turned into some dancing outside in the rain as an April shower concluded the productive and inspiring day.
No job was too large or small for our volunteers. While some were challenged to build and construct – others were happy to pull weeds or play with a toddler. Each and every job and volunteer were important to us. Your energy infused us. Your camaraderie inspired us. Your service humbled us. THANK YOU, #ForColumbia!
