A Summer Camp Experience

Our kids love summer camp! One of their favorites to attend, and also serve at, is Mt. Zion Youth Camp. Renewing and creating new friendships, daily swimming, evening campfires, days filled with various classes and the nightly chapel services all combine to make it a memorable experience each year for our kids who attend.

For a thirteen year old boy in The Wright Home, it also meant his second summer of assisting on the worship team. Here’s what he had to say at the conclusion of his time at Mt. Zion:

“I really loved going to camp! It was so fun seeing my friends and playing guitar and cajón. I liked the evening campfire songs and story every night.

“Since I’m only 13 years old, I felt very fortunate to be able to stick around for the elementary age camp. I helped some in a cabin and with the worship team. I had fun with the boys in my cabin. We made a fort out of our mattresses and blankets and would hang out there. Last year was my first year going to Mt. Zion. I enjoyed it more this year, and I think I listened to the pastor’s messages better this year than I did last year.

“All in all I had a lot of fun, and will encourage other kids from Coyote Hill Foster Care Ministries to go next year!”
