Veterans United Foundation Donates $100,000

Coyote Hill Foster Care Ministries Christian Children’s Home is $100,000 closer to building a new 5,500 sq. ft. home for children in foster care thanks to a donation from Veterans United Foundation. With the Foundation’s donation, Coyote Hill Foster Care Ministries’s fundraising goal of $600,000 is nearing the halfway point. Coyote Hill Foster Care Ministries Christian Children’s Home provides a professional, yet traditional home environment for abused and neglected children.

“Daily we are turning away placement phone calls, because we lack the space,” said Larry McDaniel, founder and executive director of Coyote Hill Foster Care Ministries. “The need to give sibling groups in foster care a safe place to live continues to grow in mid-Missouri. The site of the new home looks like woolly woods today, but we’re turning it into another safe place to be a child. It will be a place for children to find refuge, while finding themselves.”

This is the sixth home Coyote Hill Foster Care Ministries has constructed in more than 25 years. Each home provides up to eight children daily with a safe and stable family environment, because of Coyote Hill Foster Care Ministries’s full-time, live-in Home Parents. This additional home will enable Coyote Hill Foster Care Ministries to serve upwards of 70-80 children each year. Coyote Hill Foster Care Ministries is the only licensed children’s home in the area providing this hybrid of traditional foster care and professional counseling services.

“Our employees were very passionate about getting behind this project and supporting it,” said Greg Steinhoff, executive director of Veterans United Foundation. “It’s something there is a definite need for and we encourage other businesses and partners within the community to get involved and contribute.”

Coyote Hill Foster Care Ministries is proud to be called the former home of six active duty or reserve military service members. One former resident is also a proud homeowner thanks to Veterans United Home Loans. Watch his story HERE.
